Hot Shop Winter Sampler

Double the fun, double the creativity. In this festive introductory workshop, you’ll make two distinct glass creations. You’ll gather glass from the 2,100°F furnace and add color. Then guided by a skilled instructor, you will create one festive blown glass ornament and one sculpted snowperson.

This workshop is a fun introductory experience to hot glass sculpting AND hot glassblowing. Each participant will make two unique seasonal creations, perfect for decorating or gifting.

Due to the nature of hot glass, your items will be available for pickup 5 days after your activity.

Stained Glass Snowflake

Learn the art of stained glass while creating your very own glass snowflake. Students will work with pre-cut glass, bevels and gems wrapping each component in metal to then join them together with molten solder. Use these dazzling snowflakes to decorate your home for the winter season or catch the light in your window all year round.

 

 

Stained Glass Ornament

Celebrate the season with stained glass! In this introductory 4-hour workshop you’ll create a stained glass ornament. Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you'll learn the fundamentals of stained glass including how to cut glass, follow a pattern, use the copper foiling method, and solder your pieces together.

Using colorful sheet glass and traditional stained glass techniques, you’ll assemble a beautiful ornament design that catches and transforms light. Your finished piece is perfect for displaying in a window or on a wall throughout the season.

PGC 248 Branch out and create something beautiful! In this introductory 4-hour workshop you’ll create a stained glass winter tree panel. Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you'll learn the fundamentals of stained glass including how to cut glass, follow a pattern, use the copper foiling method, and solder your pieces together.

Blown Glass Optic Ornaments

PGC 130 Give your handmade ornament a textured twist. In this introductory workshop, you will work with a skilled instructor to gather molten glass from the 2,100°F furnace, add color, and blow a bubble into the glass. Then, using a steel optic mold, you’ll create a beautifully patterned, raised texture that catches the light.

This workshop is a fun introduction to hot glassblowing. Each participant will make two textured ornaments, perfect for trimming the tree, gifting to someone special, or adding a little sparkle to your space all year long.

Flameworked Frit Pendants

Ignite your creativity. In this introductory workshop, create a wearable glass pendant using a 3,000°F torch. Guided by a skilled instructor, learn torch basics and explore techniques like shaping and adding colorful glass frit to create swirling, one-of-a-kind designs. Add a handmade touch to your jewelry collection.

Fused Glass Platter

Serve up style with your very own handmade glass platter. In this introductory 4-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to cut, design, and assemble colorful sheet glass, glass granules (frit), and thin glass rods (stringers) into your own pattern under the guidance of a skilled instructor.

Once your design is complete, we’ll fuse it in the kiln to create a dazzling platter perfect for serving your favorite food, or simply displaying as a handmade work of art. Platters can be made in a variety of sizes including 7" x 12", 10" x 10", 8" x 8", or 9" round.

Bottle Stoppers

Top off your bottles with style. In this introductory workshop, melt and shape molten glass into custom bottle stoppers with a 3,000°F torch. Guided by a skilled instructor, learn torch basics and add color, texture, and details to create functional art for wine, oils, or decorative display. Impress your guests or give as a unique hand crafted gift.
