PGC 218 Add a creative twist to your handmade glass ornament collection! In this introductory workshop, you will work with a skilled instructor to gather molten glass from the 2,100°F furnace, add color of your choice, and blow and shape the glass into a festive traditional ornament. Then, create a second ornament using sculpting techniques. Gather more molten glass, add color of your choice, and twist, pull, and manipulate the glass by hand to create an expressive, beautiful twisted sculpted ornament.

This workshop is a fun introduction to working with hot glass. Each participant will make two ornaments: one classic blown glass ornament and one sculpted twist ornament both perfect for gifting, collecting, or adding a handmade touch to your seasonal décor.

Double the fun, double the creativity. In this festive introductory workshop, you’ll make two distinct glass creations. You’ll gather glass from the 2,100°F furnace and add color. Then guided by a skilled instructor, you will create one festive blown glass ornament and one sculpted snowperson.

This workshop is a fun introductory experience to hot glass sculpting AND hot glassblowing. Each participant will make two unique seasonal creations, perfect for decorating or gifting.

Fire up the torch, shape molten glass, and put a playful twist on an everyday classic. In this quick and exciting flameworking experience, you’ll work closely with a skilled artist to heat and bend molten glass into a whimsical, one-of-a-kind silly straw using a 3,000°F torch. Twist and curl your design into a loop, spiral, or squiggle that are as fun to look at as they are to use.

Make-It-Now experiences offer a quick hands-on introduction to the magic of glassmaking. In the flame shop, you’ll work one-on-one with a skilled local artist at a 3,000° tabletop torch. In about 20 minutes or less, you’ll work together to heat, shape, color, and craft your glass item. Perfect for beginners, these short experiences give a taste of the excitement, skill, and artistry that goes into working with glass in a supportive, guided setting.

Ages 14+

Due to the nature of hot glass, items cannot be taken home the same day they are created. All items made in the flame shop must go through an annealing process to slowly cool the glass. Items are available for pick-up after 5 days. Shipping can be arranged on site the day of your activity.

Using colorful sheet glass and traditional stained glass techniques, you’ll assemble a beautiful ornament design that catches and transforms light. Your finished piece is perfect for displaying in a window or on a wall throughout the season.

Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you'll learn the fundamentals of stained glass including how to cut glass, follow a pattern, use the copper foiling method, and solder your pieces together.

In this introductory workshop, you will work with a skilled instructor to gather molten glass from the 2,100°F furnace, add color, and blow a bubble into the glass. Then, using a steel optic mold, you’ll create a beautifully patterned, raised texture that catches the light.
