Educator Open Houses are open to teachers, principals, administrators, and PTA/PTO representatives. Participants can earn Act 48 credit hours for attending.

PGC 136

Carve out some fun with molten glass pumpkins. In this introductory workshop, you’ll gather glowing molten glass from the 2,100°F furnace and add colors of your choice. Then guided by a skilled instructor, you will blow and sculpt it into beautiful pumpkins with curly stems. This workshop is a fun introductory experience into hot glassblowing. Each participant will make two blown pumpkins, perfect for harvesting compliments at home, gifting to a loved one, or adding a decorative touch to any space.

Top off your bottles with style. In this introductory workshop, melt and shape molten glass into custom bottle stoppers with a 3,000°F torch. Guided by a skilled instructor, learn torch basics and add color, texture, and details to create functional art for wine, oils, or decorative display. Impress your guests or give as a unique hand crafted gift.

PGC 173 Gather a little forest charm. In this introductory workshop, create delicate, colorful glass acorns using a 3,000°F torch. Guided by a skilled instructor, learn torch basics and explore shaping and texturing techniques to form smooth bodies and detailed caps. Add a loop to make it a pendant or keep it as a mini sculpture. Fun to make, beautiful to display, and perfect to keep or gift.

PGC 206

If you've ever wanted to try glassblowing, this is the workshop for you. This 5-hour workshop offers an introduction to the art of glassblowing. Designed for beginners, you will gain hands-on experience in the hot shop, and learn essential techniques for gathering, shaping, and manipulating molten glass straight from the 2,100°F furnace.

 

After learning to gather, you'll sculpt a paperweight and then progress to additional glassblowing techniques, enabling you to craft a variety of glass objects throughout the day.

 

Instructors provide step-by-step guidance to ensure a safe and productive learning experience.

 

Warning! Hot glass is immersive and captivating. Once you start working with it, you may not want to stop.

 

Note: Class includes a 30-minute lunch break. Lunch is not provided, but a refrigerator is available for student use.

Get started with stained glass. In this introductory workshop, you'll create a beautiful decorative suncatcher from a variety of provided patterns. Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you'll learn basic stained glass techniques including glass cutting, copper foiling, and soldering. At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a beautiful piece that brightens any space.

 

 

PGC 160

You bring the creativity, we’ll supply the glass. In this introductory workshop, you’ll personalize your own beer mug, wine goblet, or drinking glass while gaining hands-on experience with professional cold shop equipment. Work with a skilled artist and explore sandblasting, carving, etching, polishing, and dremeling to make your glass totally yours.

 

 

PGC 199 Indulge your creativity. In this introductory workshop, create colorful glass candies using a 3,000°F torch. Guided by a skilled instructor, learn torch basics and explore shaping and color techniques to create your own confection-inspired designs. Perfect for adding a little sweetness to your space.
